Pizza delivery to Church Hill?

I live in Church Hill and I have called six pizza delivery places and all told me they don't deliver to my neighborhood. I called the Domino's at Belvidere near VCU, I called the Pizza Hut on Broad near the Science Museum, I called Channello's in the east end and on the Boulevard, I called Assante's and I called Papa John's on Main near VCU.

According to their websites, Domino's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's don't deliver to my neighborhood.

Has anyone had better luck?

Edit; I know about Bottom's Up and don't care to pay their exorbitant prices when most other pizza restaurants charge less for the same pie.

Mmm, better pizza in your opinion; not mine. Thanks for the recommendation anyway!

Yes, obviously. Thank you. I'm looking for DELIVERY.

Wow, nice name-calling. You should have known you weren't helping when I asked for DELIVERY and you offered carry-out. See the difference?

its actually pretty funny back in the day the dominoes on belvidere had a big map of the delivery area on the wall and the neighborhoods that we didnt go to were all scribbled through with a black marker.

anyway one day someone called up and one of the drivers answered the phone and the guy wanted to know why they didnt deliver to his neighborhood and the driver responded "because it's a black area" meaning that it was blacked out on the map but as i'm sure you can imagine was taken to mean something different...... yup they got sued and corperate sent down a nice well crafted script of why they dont deliver to certain areas.

the reason though is that after getting a gun stuck in your face enough times in certain areas you have a hard time getting drivers to go back for any amount of money. good luck.

Wow, what an interesting story. Funny thing about that; I seriously doubt they would ever get a gun stuck in their face in my neighborhood, much less on my street.

Ignorance is bliss though, right? People would rather assume the worst instead of giving the situation benefit of the doubt or even another chance. Crime is down in the city and I can't get a pizza brought to my front door?

i had a driver that came to work for me that left channellos because he had been robbed 3 times in the couple of months he worked there.

In what neighborhood(s)? Everyone gets robbed at some point. My car was broken into on Monument Ave west of Lombardy St once. I guess that area is dangerous too? ;)

dont know, didnt care at the time. i was just happy to be getting him, everybody i had talked to said he was a good driver.

btw, the franchise stores add and remove neighborhoods that they deliver to based on crime statistics from year to year. i dont know the formula they use but i know it gets updated periodically.

OK, that's good to know about the stats. Thanks!

As someone who had a gun stuck in my face, in a neighborhood where I thought that would never happen, I realize why people assume the worst--it's fucking terrifying, and it'd be stupid to put myself in that position again, second chances be damned.

So, it's best to judge based on fear or ignorance? That's pretty close-minded thinking.

It seemed to me that the commenter was pretty clear: someone got mugged at gunpoint multiple times, and that's why he was no longer willing to deliver there. I don't see anything ignorant in all this.

No, he didn't specify the neighborhood. If you don't personally know a neighborhood and you're willing to assume that the neighborhood is bad then that is ignorance.

Heh. Bottoms Up and Domino's are the same pie? Did your taste buds quit, or did you fire them at some point? ;P

Haha, I meant the same size or style. Bottom's Up is good, no doubt but I don't feel the need to pay more for their pizza.

Da Vinci's on 25th street. Just a block down from the liquor store. They don't deliver, but it would be real easy to go pick up :)

I just had to say I love your icon. I had that picture sleeve 45!

Also, Aladdin will deliver to you in Church Hill if they know you. Just ask.

Bubbling delivers, too. Their grub is sub par IMHO, but will do in a pinch.

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Valentino's! [ (804) 377-3333‎ ] They definitely deliver to the Hill, and are open pretty late, too.

Shoot, someone did mention Valentino's but I don't see the comment now. Where is Bubbling? Are they in the Bottom?

Forgot to mention, I will try Valentino's; they sound great!
